India Alumina Price Will Remain High

On this Monday, Indian aluminum corporation (NALCO) said that the alumina price to remain firm in the coming days.

The CEO TK Chand in an interview with CNBC-TV 18 said "our latest departure price is $580.5 per ton, $50.5 per ton higher than the price on Aug. 1, 2018. The price of alumina has risen by about 10% in 15 days."

"The rise in alumina prices is mainly due to the rise in bauxite prices in China and the tightening of environmental regulations in China's aluminum smelters," Chand said. Besides, as caustic soda prices have risen, the alumina prices have risen too. These two factors are driving up prices.
